The Super Eagles of Nigeria have moved up to 41st place in the latest FIFA World rankings released on Thursday.
Nigeria garnered 701 points to move up from 42nd to 41st place in the World and 7th place in Africa.
Germany maintains the top spot in the world while Algeria remains the top ranked African country after they were placed 18th in the world, followed closely by 2015 AFCON winners, Ivory Coast in 20th position. Ghana, Tunisia, Senegal and Cape Verde are other African countries that were placed well above Nigeria in the rankings.
However, the Eagles still have a chance to move up the table in next month’s rankings, if they win their next two friendly games against Bolivia and South Africa.
We wish them good luck.
