Nigeria Makes Guinness World Records, With the Biggest Jersey on Earth

In the spirit of the African Cup of Nations competition concluded a few weeks back, Guinness Nigeria launched a pitch-sized jersey and laid it over the main bowl of the Teslim Balogun Stadium — in January. The organization did it to bolster the hopes of Nigerians in the Super Eagles and, to draw a crowd to the stadium and the viewing center it set up in the compound.
It was announced as the biggest football jersey in the world, but that became official a few days back, when Guinness World Records certified it. The largest football shirt meausres 73.55 meters (241 foot 3 inches) and 89.67 meters (294 foot 2 inches) long.
It is another feat for Nigeria, prompted by the initiative of a corporation, to extend the spirit of sportsmanship.
Nigeria won the 2013 AFCON competition, and will represent Africa at the FIFA Confederation’s Cup in Brazil, by June.
