Nigeria Air: Aviation Minister Unveils New National Carrier At UK Fair

Speaking at the UK Unveiling of what appears to be a major breakthrough for the Aviation industry in Nigeria, the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika on Wednesday afternoon, revealed the name and colours for the proposed national carrier. Going by the name ‘Nigeria Air’ and the tagline “Bringing Nigeria closer to the world”, the airline will be adorned in the national colours,  green and white. Sirika, who is presently in the United Kingdom with top officials of the Aviation sector as attendees to the ongoing Fanborough Air Show, met with management of Airbus to conclude the dialogue on the choice of airplanes the Nigeria Air will be operating.

Sirika believes the aircraft fair was the best occasion to liaise with airline manufacturers in view of kick-starting the National carrier with the most competitive and best value-for-money deals for the country. The Aviation Minister enthused that he would also take advantage of all prospects available at the Fair for what opportunity it promises the nation for more investors into the Nigerian aviation industry, especially as it bothers to recent efforts to establish a Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility in Nigeria. It is also worthy of note that on the 5th of August 2015, President Muhammed Buhari had called for the establishment of a new National Ariline at a briefing attended by top officials and the Permanent Secretary of the Aviation Ministry, Mrs Binta Bello, at the Presidential Villa in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   Feature Image: thecable.ng
