Just barely 48 hours of scoring a lucrative deal with Nigerian bottling company, Coca-Cola, the Nigerian Football Federation has announced another innovative deal.
For the first time in its history, the Nigerian Football Federation would have its official insurance service provider.
This was disclosed at the official signing of the partnership agreement that took place on Friday. The event unveiled Wapic Insurance PLC as NFF co-sponsor and insurance service provider, and also, that the partnership agreement would last for five years with an option for renewal, although the monetary value attached to the deal remained undisclosed.
The Executive Director, Wapic Insurance Plc, Olufemi Obaleke, Bode Ojeniyi, Executive Director, Wapic Insurance Plc, Yinka Adekoya of Wapic Insurance Plc, President, Nigeria Football Federation(NFF), Amaju Pinnick, NFF first and second vice president Seyi Akinwunmi and Shehu Dikko, respectively and Aisha Falode were present at the event.
According to Complete Sports Nigeria, the Vice President Shehu Dikko revealed that Wapic Insurance would insure both the players and the events.
In addition, the first Vice President, Seyi Akinwunmi noted that the relationship did not happen off the blues as WAPIC had helped paid the first salary of Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr.
