New International Airport In Lekki, Lagos In Progress.

In a few years, there will be a new international airport in Lekki Lagos, according to construction plans, and agreements between the government and consultants. This will have Lagos, another international airport and grow flights volume from new destinations into, and out of Nigeria. The airport will occupy more that 2,000 hectares along the Lekki-Epe Expressway will cost about $800million and should have a capacity of 2 million passengers per annum. The government submitted on the project that, “Besides, the primary objective for the development of the Lekki Airport is to complement and support the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), the only functional international airport in Western Nigeria.” Consultants that have been appointed for the project include Ove Arup and Partners Limited (UK) – as technical consultant, Norton Rose (UK) – as off-shore Counsel and Banwo and Ighodalo – as on-Shore Counsel.
