Nigeria was thrown into grief a fortnight ago, when news broke that a chopper conveying the Governor of Kaduna State, Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, and a former Security Advisor to President Jonathan, General Owoye Andrew Azazi, had crashed – in Bayelsa – and those travelling on it are dead. The news came as a shock to Nigerians, and was on world headlines.
The Deputy Governor of Kaduna, Alhaji Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, was sworn in as governor, soon after, and the quondam governor was buried. A new deputy governor was shopped for, and a former Nigerian Ambassador to Poland and Chairman of the Kaduna State arm of Peoples Democratic Party, Audu Nuhu Nyam Bajoga, emerged as favorite.
He was sworn in today, and will with the new governor, pursue the near and medium term targets for the State.
