Netflix musical movie,
Been So Long premiers in October.
The movie stars British-Nigerian actor and playwright,
Arinze Kene, and was screened at the
Cannes Festival in France. The worldwide rights to the film were acquired by
Netflix exactly one year ago, in what has been said to be
the single biggest acquisition of a UK film by the video streaming platform.
Been So Long
Been So Long is a love story set in London. It follows the story of a dedicated single mom, who during an unusual night out, meets a handsome and troubled stranger and is overcome by his debilitating charm. Its soundtrack covers a wide variety of music genres from RnB to Soul, Orchestra, dance including music from some up and coming music producers.
Kene has featured in a number of stage plays including
The Lion King. He was nominated Best Newcomer at the 2011
All About Soap Bubble Awards, and won the award for Most Promising Playwright the previous year at the
Off West End Awards, commonly referred to as
The Offies, the same awards in which his play,
Little Baby Jesus, was nominated for Best New Play.
Been So Long has Kene starring alongside British-Ghanaian BAFTA-winning actress, Michaela Coel, and is set to premiere on the 26th of October 2018 as a Netflix Original.
