Atawodi would now oversee and ensure payment solutions for Netflix’s presence in Africa in view of growing competition from Showmax. Netflix is a market leader in Nigeria but it is facing stern competition from Showmax, iROKOtv and AirtelTV. The big competition for SVOD platforms these days is for content and subscribers. It seems the process of scaling Netflix’s influence in the Nigerian market in the mould of what was achieved at Uber.
