Nigeria played its Brazil 2014 qualifying match against Namibia yesterday, and was held to a 1-1 draw. This puts Nigeria in a tight spot, leaving the only hope for qualification in the next match against Malawi, where Nigeria needs a clear win. The outing was a blow to the Super Eagles, who in a few day would play in the Brazil 2013 Confederations Cup; facing World Champions, Spain in one of the group matches and other champions from other continents. Some of the key players who featured for Nigeria at the 2013 African Cup of Nations, are injured. Nigeria’s coach, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi shortlisted a new crop of players for the tournament and Nigerians expect them to make their nation proud. Deon Hotto Kavendji scored in the 77th minute for Namibia, before Godfrey Oboabona equalised for Nigeria in the 83rd minute. The match was played at the Sam Nujoma Stadium, Namibia.
