Movies We Love: If Tomorrow Never Comes

I’m not much of a weeper when it comes to films. But every once in a while, a movie like If Tomorrow Never Comes comes along that dares me to break my own rule. If Tomorrow Never Comes is an inspirational film centered on the tragic experiences of a young Ghanaian woman named Ewurabena. With a stellar narration, the heroine takes us down a twisted journey of betrayal, self-actualization and repentance in little under two hours. Back to back, we witness the many events that made up her seemingly gloomy life, watching her transition from a child to an adult, and experience life in an urban, rural and very rural environment. The GhaNollywood film – if such a term even exists – featured the very talented Yvonne Nelson and Adeyemi Okanlawon, along with soul singer, Becca and motivational speaker/writer,  Michelle Mckinney Hammond. They led the cast of amazingly talented actors who gave praiseworthy performances in each scene.

Without a doubt, what deserves the most applause in production has to be the film’s cinematography. The term “phenomenal” is an understatement with some of the scenes emerging as beautiful moving paintings with very clever angles. This added so much value to the storytelling process, imprinting visual memories in our minds that we will never forget in a hurry.

If you’re the sort of person who loves to watch thought-provoking movies – the kind that make you seriously think and reflect on life – this is a must-see movie for you. It was officially released a couple of months ago but should be available in DVD format at this time.   Trailer:       Do you know any great movie you would love us to review?
