Moses’ Future In My Chelsea Is Uncertain, Says Sarri

Victor Moses
Former Nigerian International, Victor Moses, has only played 26 minutes for Chelsea in the EPL this season — compared to his 2498 minutes in the 2016/17 seasons, where he helped the English outfit to league and FA Cup titles. This is a huge setback for the Nigerian, who took a break from his national team duties to focus on his club and family. Under former Chelsea coach, Antonio Conte, Moses reinvented himself as a clinical wingback — integral to the team. However, since Maurizio Sarri moved to Stamford bridge, Moses has been unable to fit into his 4-3-2-1 match winning formation. Sarri has had quite the ado from interested parties, with regards to Moses’ absence from his formation style, and the manager has explained why the Nigerian and Danny Drinkwater, have been out of his favor since he arrived at the club:
Moses is more suitable for playing wing back than like a winger or a full back, I think. I don’t know [if they have a future]. They [Moses and Drinkwater] have to improve but their characteristics are a little bit different.” — Sarri (Goal.com)
Sarri, who is eager to reduce his squad to a compact team of critical players, also added that the future of both players will be made clearer during the January transfer window:
Of course, if you look to December, January – we will need to change the team for the Premier League because there will be matches every three days. So, we will need to change there too, of course.” – Sarri
