“I can tell you that Etisalat Nigeria has gained almost 50 per cent of the total figure of ported numbers so far. This is a clear indication that the Nigerian consumers have made their choice based on current realities on ground. We set out early in our business to ensure that we developed products and services that suit the lifestyle of all our target customers. We have also ensured that we have a reliable network to accommodate existing and new customers and these efforts have been recognised by the NCC and other stakeholders in the telecoms industry,” says Wael Ammar, Chief Operating Officer of Etisalat.
He was commenting on Etisalat’s collation in the first six weeks of the porting exercise. The Nigeria Communications Commission is yet to reveal official figures but reports show figures similar to Etisalat’s submission.
