John Mikel Obi scored his first league goal for Chelsea over the weekend in the side’s 2-0 home win over neighbours, Fulham at Stamford Bridge.
The midfielder scored in the 84th minute to hand Jose Mourinho’s men their first win in five games.
Mikel holds the record for the number of games a midfielder has gone without scoring a league goal in the English Premier League at 185 games.
Mikel finished the game with a pass accuracy of 92 percent from 99 touches.
Mikel had only scored two goals for the club, both coming in the FA Cup against Macclesfield Town and Nottingham Forest. Hopefully, the goal will herald a flow of goals for the Super Eagles ace.
