Born April 22, 1994, Ajagba decided to focus fully on boxing in 2011 and three years later (2014), he made the Nigerian team to the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. At the Glasgow games, Ajagba was impressive and finished with a bronze medal in the super heavyweight division. He would go on to win gold in the super heavyweight division at the 2015 African Games in Brazaville, Congo. Efe in the African Boxing Olympic Qualification in Cameroon, 2016, won gold in the super heavyweight category and booked his ticket for the 2016 Olympics in Brazil. The Delta man-made history on August 24, 2021, by recording the fastest victory in world boxing history after his opponent, Curtis Harper, stepped out of the ring in a dispute over pay and was disqualified.

Efe Ajagba has established himself as a knockdown specialist, defeating Razvan Cojanus on March 7, 2020, after managing knockdowns in the eighth and ninth rounds. Nigeria has also fought Jonathan Rice, a match he won through a unanimous decision from the judges. Ajagba has remained undefeated in his boxing career since making the headlines in 2014 at the Commonwealth Games. So far, he has fought 15 times, won 12 through knockout, 2 through decision, and one through disqualification. After beating Brian Smith on April 10, 2021, through a third-round knockout, Ajagba boasted: “I’m coming for the heavyweights. I’m going to be the heavyweight champion of the world.’’
