The 2015 election in Nigeria was an unforgettable one; with twists and turns, suspense and tension. The winners have been declared and the losers have conceded defeat. Now the handover date is drawing nearer and it is time to get familiar with those who will lead us for the next four years.
To kick-off the series, we will take a look at the Governor-elect of Adamawa State, Sen. Bindo Jibrilla.
Bindo Umaru Jibrilla is a business tycoon and philanthropist turned politician who owns three companies in Mubi, Adamawa State.
He is reportedly popular for his job creation efforts, and as the youngest contender, he had the support of many youths in the state.
He participated in the January 2011 PDP primaries for the Adamawa North Senatorial race and won with 626 votes.
In April 2011, he defeated Boni Haruna of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), and after confirmation from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), he occupied his position as Senator. He then vied for the position of the Governor of Adamawa State and won, defeating Markus Gundiri of the SDP and Nuhu Ribadu of the PDP.
