Meet the Connect Nigeria Writers’ Conference Speakers: Okechukwu Ofili

At Connect Nigeria’s first annual Writers’ Conference, we were honoured to have the renowned Okechukwu Ofili attend. He shared his experiences on writing, book publishing and his journey to becoming a public speaker, which inspired the upcoming writers who attended. The precious seeds of information he sowed during the conference led to the publishing of a book by Mirian Chibuzor titled ‘The Girl Who Found Water’. We are pleased to announce to those who missed him last year that he will be back again this year! Okechukwu Ofili is a leader in the development of creativity, innovation and human resources in education and business. He runs the popular blog, ofilispeaks.com and is the author of several books including the controversially brilliant ‘How Intelligence Kills: Our Dangerous Addiction to Respect, Religion, Intelligence and Lots More’ where he argues against the status quo and pushes us to challenge the norm, by thinking differently. In addition to writing and speaking, Okechukwu is also the founder of okadabooks.com, an easy-to-use mobile book-reading app for the African market which won the MTN app of the year award in 2013. You can follow him on Twitter @ofilispeaks. If you want to know how to start a quality blog, have been thinking about going into public speaking, are unsure of how to become an author, or need to know what it takes to become a successful writer in Nigeria, register for the writers’ conference here.
