Lydia Forson Covers Africa Issue of Nolly Silver Screen Magazine

Ghanaian actress, screenwriter and producer, Lydia Forson covers the Africa issue of Nolly Silver Screen magazine. The award winning actress and reigning Africa Movie Academy Awards ambassadors speaks about her career, settling down and the role of film. “The only way to unite Africa is through film,” says Forson.
Speaking about the theme of the edition, Isabella Akinseye, Editor of Nolly Silver Screen said, “After seven editions focusing mainly on Nigeria, we decided to broaden our horizon to the encompass Mother Africa. We believe that promoting and celebrating African cinema is a burden that should be borne by all irrespective of geographical boundaries.”
The eighth issue of the monthly 40-page digital magazine also includes interviews with African filmmakers and practitioners.“We spoke to Zimbabwe born international film curator, Keith Shiri about this year’s Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF). Johnny Muteba is planning the Kalahari International Film Festival to showcase the best of African film and culture and Berni Goldblat is reviving African film culture one cinema at a time.” Kenneth Gyang, Kemi Lala Akindoju, Kunle Odunewu, Femi Kayode Amogunla and Udoka Oyeka are also interviewed.
Film journalist, Wilfred Okiche profiles 10 Africans making it big in Hollywood while Deputy Editor of the publication, Innocent Ekejiuba compiles a list of five leading African movie industries. “The September edition includes reviews, listings, articles, cartoons, red carpet fashion, news from the festival circuit and awards, competitions and much more,” says Akinseye.
