Former world Heavyweight Champion, Lennox Lewis, has called on
Anthony Joshua to prove himself the superior warrior amongst the heavyweights in the division.
Lewis recalled that he himself also had to walk the career path Joshua is treading right now and the current heavyweight champion must prove himself the best not just in the division but to the world.
Lewis, nicknamed
The Lion, is a three-time world heavyweight champion and remains the last heavyweight to hold the undisputed title — a feat Joshua hopes to achieve with only two men in his way;
Alexander Povetkin and
Deontay Wilder.
International boxing hall of famer, Lewis, believes that Joshua can very well be the next undisputed champion. At the moment, however, Joshua, Wilder and Tyson Fury do not seem to stand out in the heavyweight division.
“I put them in the same bag of groceries because it’s not like one guy has really dominated and shown that he’s the best out there and he doesn’t have to worry about the other two. I know who wants the fight and who doesn’t want the fight. I’ve been there. So it’s really down to probably the promoters not speaking on good terms and it’s really just a fight about money. I say if you want the fight, be fair. One guy [Wilder] has got a belt, the other guy [Joshua] has got three. Cut it up like that.”
