Have you seen the visuals for the Coca Cola EPL song, “Leggo”? The song is perhaps the biggest music collaboration by Nigerian artistes since the January 2019 anti-vote buying campaign “Don’t Sell Your Vote“, which had 2Baba, M.I Abaga, Teni, Chidinma, Waje, Cobhams, and Umar M Shareef.

The video which has Burna Boy, Mayorkun, Small Doctor, Kizz Daniel, Zoro, and Kaffy is born out of their individual passion for the European Premier League – Nigeria’s most followed soccer league, and the most popular in the world. It features choreography by Kaffy and her crew and a display of fancy footwork with a football in a silhouette. The stars sing the praise of some of the most popular clubs including Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal.

Preceding the song were twitter banters, starting with the stars tweeting about their clubs, notably Small Doctor tweeted in support of Chelsea despite their heavy loss to Liverpool on Sunday, April 14. Soon after there were pictures of each other the singers kitted in club jerseys. Of course, fans soon jumped in on the conversation even though they were unsure where it was headed.

It wasn’t until April 20, when Cocoa Cola put up the video, along with the tweet:

“For the love of football, we dedicate the #Leggo song to all football fans out there. Rep your club and enjoy the rhythm from Burna Boy, Mayorkun, Small Doctor, Kizz Daniel, Zoro, and Kaffy”

, that most people knew what all the #Leggo tweets were about.

It is interesting to note however that all the stars were proudly wearing their favourite club jerseys, except for Kizz Daniel who had a white shirt and black leather Jacket on. Does this have anything to say about Arsenal fans and how proud they are of their club?
