A recent survey reported that 76% of its respondents were experiencing stress due to money and work issues. As a result, these individuals turn out to be less productive at work and in life, with several health and psychological problems following suit.
Developed by Japanese inventor, Sakachi Toyoda, the 5 Whys tool is an effective means of getting down to the root of any problem in the workplace or your personal life. The interrogative technique can be applied to identify the causes and effects of these burdens. Its simplicity and practicality allow for flexible implementation, and as such, an effective solution can be created based on acquired details.
Here is how it works. When an issue occurs, ask why. Don’t settle for the answer. Ask why again, about four more times actually, until you get to the true underlying source.
Say no to quick fix solutions and yes to the 5 Whys.
