LASTMA To Divert Traffic For OLIC 4

The Lagos State Government on Wednesday, 13 December 2017, stated that there would be a diversion of traffic for the hip-hop singer, Olamide’s annual Olamide Live In Concert fourth edition, which would be taking place on December 17 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere in Lagos Olamide Adedeji, the Badoo Crooner asserted in his track “Eyan Mayweather” released in 2016,  that he “Shut down everywhere… Sold out concert in Lagos, Malay, Yankee, London”. We all thought that perhaps he was bluffing, but the entertainer seems to be extremely serious as he prepares for Olamide Live in Concert 4, OLIC 4, to be held on 17 December 2017. The Lagos State Traffic Mangement, LASTMA  has assured that his team would ensure that there is a seamless traffic operation. The Head of Operations, LASTMA Headquarters stated that announced that some section of the roads leading to the stadium would be closed, such as Alhaji Masha road would be closed to vehicular movement between National Stadium and Shitta flyover, also all other u-turns. He promised the strategic locations of men from the operations in other to ensure free movement of vehicles, before, during and after the concert, as the agency is quite aware of the influx of vehicles for the concert. The Manager of the Organizers of the 4th Olamide Live in Concert, Mr Alex Okeke expressed the reason for the venue change which had previously taken place at the Eko Hotels and Suite Victoria Island, he stated that it is a way of taking Olamide back to the streets. He added that Olamide Badoo is recognized for using his mother tongue “Yoruba” in most of his recordings, and the venue choice would accommodate those who are desirous of attending the live concert he added that Olamide has a street musician changed his venue to accommodate other people in order to enjoy his music and a way of taking back to the street.  About 25000 people are expected to be in attendance. The concert is set to start at 12 pm and is scheduled to end at 6 pm. The musician is said to partner with Lagos State, as a way of creating tourism opportunity, as people all over the world would be eager to come for subsequent editions, which would, in turn, benefit Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole. On the part of the state, The Acting Commissioner For Tourism in Lagos, Mrs Adebimpe Akinsola, said Olamide’s concert falls into the government plan of supporting entertainment-like events, like AMAA, AFRIMMA 2017, entertainment platforms that would promote entertainment and would also drive tourism to the state.   feature image credit: mycelebrityandi.com
