The Lagos State government has introduced a mobile app to help it communicate with residents of the state. The Citizens Gate mobile app will make it possible for Lagosians to make enquiries and give feedback on services delivered by the state government.
The Lagos State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Olufemi Olubiyi, made this known at a press briefing held on Thursday at the Baguda Kaltho press center in Ikeja, Lagos. He described the app as an integrated web and mobile-based platform which will enable communication between Lagos State residents and state government officials. He said that citizens could inform the government of problems that were unique to their communities through the app, and suggest ways by which state services can be improved. According to him, information obtained from interaction with state residents would be considered in the formulation of government policy.
Also speaking at the press briefing, the Director General of Lagos State Office of Transformation, Creativity and Innovation, Toba Otusanya, explained that the app will at the initial stage to accommodate 22 MDAs (Ministries, Departments and Agencies); it will be expanded in future to include all MDA s in the state.
The Citizens Gate mobile app can be downloaded from Google Play Store and Apple Store on both Android and iOS.
