The annual Lagos Jazz Series is set to take place this month in Lagos and would offer as it is its known tradition, a world-class music festival in Nigeria. This year’s edition of the LJS will hold from the 28th to 30th November and would be held at two separate venues – Muri Okunola Park and Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Organizers have disclosed the artistes performing at this year’s edition. The prolific British-Nigerian Jazz and Soul artiste, Ola Onabule who headlined the maiden mid year edition of the LJS, August this year did so well that he will be brought back to perform at the Muri Okunola Park. The “Jos Boyz” crew which includes artistes such as M. I Abaga, Jesse Jags, Ruby Gyang etc will also be performing at the Muri Okunola Park.
Lura, the soul singer and Cape Verde beauty will perform at the Federal Palace Venue where she will be performing hit songs from her 5 studio albums from a successful career spanning almost two decades. Seun Kuti, the AfroBeat sensation will also be performing at the Federal Palace venue.
Mr. Oti Bazunu, founder of Lagos Jazz Series, said that Lagosians should prepare for the experience of a lifetime adding that with fresh blend of artistes from Jazz, Soul, Hip-Hop and Highlife, this year’s event promises to be a thrilling feat as guests would be treated to hours of snazzy, world class performances.
