It’s the long-awaited end of the year holidays. While you love your children and want to spend all the time with them, you sometimes also want a moment to do adult stuff or just to catch your breath. Or maybe you just want to have as much fun as possible with your kids.
We’ve put together a few ideas for keeping your children entertained this season:
Visit Amusement Parks:
A lot of fun parks are springing up, research for one that would suit your family’s pocket and is nearer to your location, and take the children out for fun.
Plan Physical Fun Activities for your children:
It is important you encourage your children to move away from inactive video games and the TV to physical games which improve their coordination, balancing and movement skills. As this will also build their confidence and self-esteem. Make physical activities even more fun by getting out into the backyard and playing a game.
Set Up A Chill Out Corner:
This holiday, you can create an alternative to naughty corner, by giving your children a space of their own to relax and not always get in your way. You might like to create a Chill out Corner, so children can relax when they feel upset, stressed or anxious. Just put up a wooden screen or section the area with a piece of material or place the sofa in such a way that children can sit in their cozy corner at the back of the sofa. Ask your child/children to sit or lie on the floor or on cushions with their eyes closed. You can play the Relax Kids CDs, or calming music, have quality cuddle time, a relaxing massage, practice some breathing exercises together or just have a restful nap.
Be creative with Christmas Gifts:
Taking a clue from Santa in giving gifts to your children may be another way to keep them entertained. The thoughts of what they got from Father Christmas or for the more informed ones, from their parents is enough to make the season eventful. The gifts do not need to be expensive but to be treasured. Also, children can take out time to make little gifts of their own to give to their parents. It could be in form of artistic work of music or poetry, stories and dramatic performance or handmade items. Planning for these is enough to keep them occupied.
