Joshua Believes He Can Beat Ruiz And Reclaim Belts

Former world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, believes he in now in the right frame of mind to take on world heavy weight champion, Andy Ruiz, and defeat him to reclaim his titles.

Joshua suffered a shocking defeat to the Mexican full-figured man in June, recording his first professional career defeat.

Ruiz is a master tactician who can take a beating and still hold his own in the ring. Joshua on the other hand, had never faced anyone like the Mexican, and could do only so much to keep Ruiz at bay for so long.

The 29-year old British boxer has acknowledged that his ego was the death of him during the fight, as he over underestimated Ruiz because of his figure and low fight status.

That said, Joshua’s defeat is now in the past as the fighter looks forward to a rematch against Ruiz for his titles.

Both boxers have failed to agree on a venue and a date for the fight, however, the fight must happen before the end of the year.

Ruiz has refused any proposal for an England fight, whereas, Joshua’s team want the fight in Cardiff.

According to the agreement both players signed before their initial fight, in the event that Joshua lost the bout, he retained the sole right to pick a venue for the rematch. Football fans are hopeful that the outcome of the discussions will not be an unending legal war.

The two locations and dates that have been suggested are November 29 at Madison Square Garden and December 14 at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

Speaking on facing Ruiz again, Joshua said he is not scared that he would lose to the Mexican a second time and that he is putting all of that behind him and training to be the bigger and better man when both men clash later in the year.

I’ve always said, don’t let the failures get to your heart and don’t let the success get to your head. My legs and everything, it’s a weird feeling. As you’re climbing, the hole was getting deeper.

True failure isn’t quitting, I don’t think you should give up when you meet a blip in life. I’m still keen to fight the best in the world. I’m still keen to prove myself and my ambition is to be two-time heavyweight champion of the world.
