Despite their 3-1 loss to table toppers Manchester City on Sunday at Etihad, the Super Eagle’s forward A. Iwobi praised the sleight displayed by Arsenal during the game. Kevin De Bruyne drew first blood when he scored a goal in the 19th minute to put Manchester City in the lead. Sergio Aguero scored the second goal for Man City via a penalty in the 50th minute to give the team a solid 2:0 lead over the Gunners. Fifteen minutes later, Alexandre Lacazette scored Arsenal’s first goal to put them back in the race, but their comeback was shortlived as Gabriel Jesus scored Man City’s third goal in the 74th minute to end the game 3-1, adding Arsenal to the list of teams Manchester City has overpowered this season. Manchester City has played 11 games so far, with 10 wins and 1 draw. Iwobi who was on target for Arsenal until the 78th minute told Arsenal.com “We were pushing to get the equaliser, but unfortunately, the referee wasn’t able to see that it was offside, “There’s nothing that you can do, we just have to move on to the next game. “Maybe, we weren’t composing ourselves like we were in the first 10 or 15 minutes. Man City are a very good team and you have to give credit to them, but I believe the result doesn’t show how well we did. “We had an extra attacking player going forward but at the end of the day, we set up very well to play against City and we were just unfortunate. Maybe if he’d started on the wing, it would have been different, but it is what it is. A.Iwobi is expected to feature for the Nigeria against Algeria on November 10 in their final Group B FIFA 2018 World Cup qualifier in Constantine.   Featured image credit: Goal.com
