Today marks a sad day in History, as world icon, Baroness Margaret Thatcher, passes on. Her death was confirmed by her children, Mark and Carol, and announced a few hours ago by her spokesman, Lord Bell. He said, “It is with great sadness that Mark and Carol Thatcher announced that their mother Baroness Thatcher died peacefully following a stroke this morning. A further statement will be made later.”
The Iron Lady, as she was widely known, was the first female Prime Minister in Britain, and ruled with an iron hand. She will go down in history not only for achieving this feat, but also for being the woman that transformed Britain’s economy, and being a formidable rival even on the international stage of politics. She visited Nigeria twice; once in January 1988, and then a brief visit in March 1989.
Goodnight Mrs. Thatcher.
