According to TechCabal and other media reports, iROKOtv and StarTimes will soon sign a deal that will bring two linear TV channels powered by the streaming service to StarTimes.
The two new channels are: iROKO Play and iROKO Plus.
In a recent statement, iROKOtv’s CEO, Jason Njoku said “Launching IROKO Play and IROKO Plus on StarTimes is an exciting milestone for us. StarTimes is focused on bringing the best entertainment to as many people as possible at an affordable price, which is why this new landmark partnership is so befitting.”
The two channels will air exclusive Nollywood content. iROKO Play will be available on the StarTimes Basic bouquet – which flags a N1, 000 ($5) access cost and iROKO Plus which is touted to screen a more robust, updated and premium Nollywood movies will be available on the pay TV’s Unique bouquet which has a monthly service charge of N3, 000 ($15).
