International Participation Expected at Lagos Chess Classics

International players will be visiting Nigeria to participate in the Lagos Chess Classics, to hold from 8th to 11th, October at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Hall of Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere. The event is endorsed by the World Chess Federation (FIDE) as a ranking event, and will feature Grand and International Masters from Belarus, Egypt, Uganda and Romania. The Chairman, Main Organising Committee (MOC) of the event, Wahid Oshodi said, “The Lagos Chess Classics is one of the events in the Lagos Sports Classics and it is coming after the publicly acclaimed successful table tennis event of the classics. We have taken every step to ensure that we maintain the high standards we have set for this series of events.
