The photo and video sharing platform has released the desktop version of its Instagram mobile app. The new app is currently available on the Windows store for PCs. The app has the same clean interface seen in the mobile version, and it has all the major Instagram features like Instagram stories, direct and explore. It also displays all your notifications and allows you to edit your profile or share posts to external social networks.
However, the PC desktop app lacks the ability to capture, edit and upload photos and videos, and you cannot make stories with it either except if you’re using the app on a Windows tablet and not a PC. The app is very fast and responsive too and shows no performance lags.
Despite the absence of the upload button, the new Instagram desktop app is still a cool way to stay abreast with activities on your timeline, reply your direct messages or check out what the rest of the world is up to in the explore tab. It also gives you a lot of screen estate to fish out those people playing the follow and unfollow game with you *winks*. Again, using the desktop app also makes managing social media accounts for business enterprises less of a hassle.
You can head straightaway to the windows store to download the app.
