Instagram Now Allows Users Follow Hashtags
Instagram has introduced a new way for users to engage with content that matters to them right on their Instagram homepage. The Facebook-owned Photo sharing app is now allowing users to follow hashtags that are relevant to their personal interests, passions or communities they care about. Same way you follow people you like, you can now follow hashtags you like. People share thousands of images and videos every day on Instagram and use hashtags to define what these posts are about. With the latest update, you can follow these hashtags to discover rich content that interests you, and also get to connect with new people in the process. To get started, navigate to the Explore tab on your Instagram app and search for a topic you’re interested in, or tap on a hashtag from any post. Relevant hashtags will be displayed in your search results along with related accounts. Click on the hashtag you like to open the hashtag page, then tap on the ‘follow‘ button. You’ll start seeing top posts from that hashtag on your timeline and some of the latest stories also in your stories bar. You can always unfollow a hashtag, whenever you wish. Click on the hashtag to open its page, then hit unfollow. Hashtags you follow will be displayed on your profile. When you click on ‘following’ on your profile, you’ll see a new tab that displays hashtags you follow and suggestions. You can also discover cool hashtags by checking people’s profile to see which ones they follow. The new Hashtag feature also aligns with Instagram privacy settings. If you set your account to private, the hashtags you follow will only be visible to your followers. The update is available to all Instagram users. Visit your app store and update your Instagram app. Featured Image Credit: Android Authority
