There is never a day like the last with Ibiene; she always takes the next challenge a notch higher. Her ‘Nigerian and common man’ identity, however, is not lost here. Inspector Dagogo is a collection of short stories that reflect the realities of everyday Nigerians. As a result of the years she lived in Nigeria, she understands and knows this life completely. In fact, she enjoys writing about the ordinary lives of people who take each day as it comes. Her books are also reflective of society, more specifically Nigerian society. Their purpose is to serve as a mirror through which society can observe itself.

This is Ibiene’s finest work of literature, yet. It is an excellent book that will keep you interested until the very end.
