The 2019 General Elections will probably be Nigeria’s most important election yet. This is the first time in many years that Nigerians, both old and young, are immensely interested in the Presidential elections.

It goes without saying that Nigeria is currently in a critical state, and the results of this year’s presidential elections would potentially decide our nation’s faith in the years to come.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, released the time table and schedule for the 2019 General Elections last year. And ever since, work has begun within political parties in preparations for this year’s elections. Party primaries for the presidential, gubernatorial, federal and state elections, have all been concluded peacefully. However, the primaries were not without much drama as is the custom. Take for instance, in Lagos State, there is an interim governor, and a presiding governor — it is quite obvious who runs the state anyway.

Many other post-primary activities have held the attention of the general public since INEC’s announcement.

Chief amongst them is the Vice Presidential debate. The debate was as revealing as it was informative on the current administration’s steps towards growth in the years that have led up to this point.

Next is a national presidential debate expected to hold on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at the NAF CENTER, Abuja, FCT.

Nigerians are keenly eager to see the presidential debate, which will finally lay to rest the discussion on which end of the stick we received and prove just how competent our presidential candidates are going into the elections.

The Presidential and National Assembly elections would hold on February 16, 2019, while the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections would take place on March 2, 2019.
