Nigerian international striker Brown Ideye has finally been granted a work permit, a requisite to play in the English Premier League, by the British High Commission.
Ideye’s transfer to EPL side, West Brom had been delayed due to hitches in the process of his visa and work permit, meaning he couldn’t meet up with new team mates nor feature for West Brom in their pre-season friendlies.
However, he confirmed in an interview with BBC that his work permit application has been accepted by the British High Commission. He said, “The British High commission called my club to inform them that I have been issued the visa. This is positive news. I’m close to my phone waiting for the call to let me know when it’s ready for pick up.”
With this development, Ideye is now in line to make his long-awaited debut for the Baggies in their final pre-season game against Portuguese side, FC Porto at the Hawthorns before the start of the new EPL season on August 16.
