CUSTOMERS of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company can now pay their energy bills online. The company, which sees to the power needs of Ogun, Oyo, Kwara and Osun States, will be giving millions of people across Nigeria’s South West the option of paying their electricity bills through its Electricity Management System (EMS).
IBEDC says that the EMS, apart from providing a convenient platform for its customers to pay for electricity consumption, also comes with an improved bill form, which includes comprehensive customer information, energy bill breakdown, analysis of energy consumption trends, and contact details of the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission. According to the company, bills will be sent to customers via SMS and email, thus making it more convenient for them to access.
Nigeria’s electricity regulators recently ranked IBEDC number one among the eleven power distribution companies in the country. IBEDC’s top brass have described the ranking as a recognition of its efforts to significantly improve its service delivery. The company’s management now points to the EMS as an example of what this drive has achieved.
