Premier league strugglers, Reading FC have captured the signing of 21-year old Nigerian midfielder, Hope Akpan from League One side, Crawley Town.
This transfer comes just days after lining up for his former employers in their 3-1 defeat by his current employers at the Madjeski Stadium a fortnight ago.
Akpan joined Everton at the age of 8, signing his first professional contract at 17 before he was released at the end of last season. This season, he dropped divisions and established himself as the steel of Crawley Town’s midfield scoring 6 times in the 27 appearances.
He becomes Brian McDermott’s second signing after Sporting Lisbon’s captain Carrico joined a week ago as the team prepare themselves for the fight to stay in English’s elite division.
