“Water is an essential element in our daily lives and its importance cannot be overstated,” said the MD of Guinness Nigeria, Seni Adetu, as he launched Guinness Water of Life Project in Oza Nogogo Community in Agbor, Delta State. The corporate responsibility initiative, to be taken around the country, will have Guinness build and deliver portable water to places and communities.
This will be useful in providing water to communities and to also increase access to portable water for more people. Adetutu also restated the commitment of Guinness to development of communities, he said, “We have been operating in Nigeria for over 40 years and as much as we run the business to deliver profit to our shareholders. We strongly believe that it is also our responsibility to give back to the communities that have opened their arms to us in friendship and allowed us to do business.”
The community was grateful to Guinness for the project and the Monarch spoke on their behalf, appreciating them. The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Prof. Amos Utuama who was also present thanked Guinness for their efforts.
