The Governor of Cross River, Senator Liyel Imoke has announced the cash donation of N25million to the players and coaches of the Super Eagles for their AFCON triumph.
He made this known on Wednesday in Calabar where the Super Eagles team is preparing for their World Cup qualifier against Kenya on Saturday.
The Governor also gave N5m to the Nigerian Football Federation and allocated a plot of land in Calabar metropolis to every member of the 2013 African Cup of Nations winning squad.
Peter Edibe, who was the only Nigerian official at the tournament in South Africa, will also partake of this gift.
The Governor, who received the AFCON cup with great joy, said the Certificate of Occupancy will be made available to the players as soon as possible and implored them to develop the plots swiftly.
“This gesture is to show our appreciation for your hard work, commitment, and dedication to your fatherland. You can always count on us for support,” He said.
