Gionee M7 Launches with Near-Bezel-Less Display and 6GB RAM

It’s 2017, flagship smartphones have a certain standard to keep – Bezel-less display, dual camera, faster chipsets, etc; The Gionee M7 doesn’t fall short in any way. The flagship device was unveiled last week by the Chinese company and happens to be quite the upgrade. Last year’s Gionee M6 was a hit. It may not have been as popular as its rivals (Samsung, Apple, Sony), but the 5000mAh battery capacity happened to be the game changer especially for users in countries with inconsistent power supply. The Gionee M7 spots a 6.01-inch AMOLED bezel-less display with 1080 x 2160 resolution. The device is powered by a 2.3GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P30 processor and it comes with 6GB of RAM. Just like the M6, the M7 has 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. Photography wise, the phone has a 16MP + 8MP dual camera behind, and an 8MP selfie snapper. The Gionee M7 comes with its home-grown Amigo 5.0 UI laced over Android 7.1.1 and is powered by a 4000mAh non-removable battery. The phone still weighs the same 180 grams as the M6 but is slightly longer and thinner despite having a larger display (cos of the thinned bezels). The Gionee M7 supports 4GLTE dual SIM and comes with full stack connectivity (Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, USB OTG, FM, 3G, and 4G). The fingerprint sensor has been moved to the back of the device since there’s no space for it in front. The phone still uses micro USB 2.0 which is kind of a let-down since most 2017 flagships use the USB Type-C. Nonetheless, the Gionee M7 is still a great and affordable phone. The phone is priced at $422 which is around N154,000. You can check online stores or your local retail dealer for availability. Photo: Gadgets To Use
