Giannis Antetokounmpo Makes NBA Team Of The Year

Milwaukee Bucks forward, Giannis Antetokounmpo has been named alongside other top players in the basketball league for the NBA’s First Team of the Year, according to a result released on Thursday.

The selection is coming after the Nigerian’s stellar season with the Bucks so far.

Antetokounmpo alongside Houston Rockets guard, James Harden and Oklahoma City Thunder’s Paul George, have all advanced to the NBA’s Most Valuable Player award.

In a rather surprising turn of events, Lebron James did not make the list for the first time in twelve (12) years.

The king of the NBA missed out on this season’s playoffs after 14 consecutive appearances at the games, following a depressing injury in his first season with the Lakers, hence his omission from the first team.

Other players who made the NBA’s team of the year along with Antetokounmpo, George and Harden are Golden State star Stephen Curry and Denver’s Nikola Jokic.

Harden and the Nigerian-Greek player who is also fondly called the ‘Greek-Freak’ for his height and enormous hands were both unanimous first team selections.

Although James could not make the first list, he was selected into the NBA’s third-team of the year, extending his 15 successive All-NBA selections.

The second All-NBA team comprise of Damian Lillard and Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant and Kawhi Leonard at forward and Joel Embiid at the centre.
