With the prepaid meter customers simply buy units which they load to their meter and use until the units are exhausted; in simple terms it’s a pay as you go method.

Steps to get a Prepaid Meter
Go to the Electric Distribution Company nearest to you and collect a meter application form. The Meter form will be given to you by the Electric Sales Department.
Fill the meter application form with a valid form of identification.
Submit the form to the Electric Sales Representative.
The meter is usually installed within 45 days as long as all the requirements and procedure are implemented.
Note: Meter application form and installation is supposed to be FREE. However the customer might have to cover the installation charges.
