Genevieve Nnaji‘s first film as a director will be premiering next month at The International Film Festival in Toronto.

The movie, titled Lionheart, has Genevieve Nnaji playing the role of Adaeze the calm lady from an Igbo family, who skillfully and profitably manages her father’s transport company of the same name.
But her uncle Godswill (Nkem Owoh) is chosen to take over the management of the business following her father (Pete Edochie)’s ill health, over herself and her rival (Kalu Ikeagwu). Adaeze is, however, determined to fight for her place while being mindful about violating her father’s wishes.
The film focuses on sexual prejudice in the workplaces, and the juxaposition of honouring one’s family while daring to strike it out on one’s own
Cast
Lionheart was shot in various locations in the coal city of Enugu. It stars Genevieve Nnaji in the lead role, alongside Chika Okpala (Zebrudaya), Steve Eboh, Pete Edochie, Kanayo O Kanayo, Onyeka Onwenu, Nkem Owoh, Ngozi Ezeonu, Kalu Ikeagwu, Jemima Osunde, Yakubu Mohammed and Sani Muazu with Peter Okoye of the defunct Psquare and Chibuzor Azubuike (Phyno), featuring in a movie role for the first time!
It was written by C.J Fiery Obasi based on Ishaya Bako and Emil Garuba’s screen play, produced by Chinny Onwugbenu and executive produced by The Entertainment Network (TEN).
Lionheart premiers at the 2018 edition of The International Film Festival on the 8th of September, 2018.
