Nigeria is home to a lot of unique plants and animals; we even have some endangered species. That’s why we have Game Reserves to protect them. Most of the Game Reserves in Nigeria were once Forest Reserves. Game Reserves differ from nature reserve because hunting is not entirely prohibited in a Game Reserve; it’s just controlled. Today we will look at the Game Reserves in Nigeria regardless of who manages it or its nomenclature. Here is a list of some Game Reserves (national parks included) in Nigeria:

- Kainji National park, Niger State – It is the home of Borgu Game Reserve and Zugurma Game Reserves.
- Falgore Game Reserve, Kano State
- Kashimbila Game Reserve, Taraba State
- Gashaka Gumti National Park, Taraba State—It is between two States, Taraba and Adamawa. The government formed this National Park from the combination of two Game Reserves, the Gashaka Game Reserve, and Gumti Game Reserve.
