In the space of one week, four Nigerian women have achieved feats that brought some form of respite to the nation in the midst of a tension-ridden political climate.

She broke the record in the semi-finals of the event with a time of 12:12s. She ran a faster time of 12:06 in the final but because it was wind-aided, it didn’t count.

In addition to breaking the World record, Tobi Amusan broke her own African and National records three times by running a time of 12:40s in the heats, 12:12s in the semi-finals, and 12:06 in the final.
Tobi has now won the Commonwealth Games gold in the 100mh event in 2018, Diamond league in 2021, and World championships in 2022. What a journey it has been for Tobi Amusan.
