You may be one of those people who do not subscribe to the practice of setting a day aside to express love, believing instead that romance should be a part of everyday life. However, it takes two to tango, and if your husband is the Valentine’s Day kind, it may be hard to ignore it altogether. If you’ve suddenly realised that, regardless of your own beliefs, your joy cannot be complete if your man’s isn’t, then you probably realise you’re pressed for time; Valentine’s Day is less than 48 hours away! If you haven’t included it in your budget, you may not have much cash to spare either. What to do? Put together a last minute Valentine package. Bearing in mind that it’s the thought and effort you put into pleasing him that will really count, here are some tips to help you make Valentine’s Day memorable with minimal planning. You’ll want to put the kids to bed early, so let them know ahead of time. 1. The Way to His Heart You guessed it; prepare a meal that will blow him away. A lovingly prepared home cooked meal will touch his heart, especially if he has to eat out a lot. You want to stay away from the regulars on this special day, but you don’t want to be too tired for the night either. Carefully select a recipe, and cook him a delicious meal that says, “I love you”. If cooking isn’t your forte, home cooking can also be ordered, so call right away. Nothing too light or fancy- you want him to enjoy the meal, and you also need it to provide much needed strength for the rest of the evening. So choose wisely. 2. The Food of Love Music is an absolute must when it comes to a romantic evening.  Depending on your tastes, pick out passionate tunes to set the mood for your evening. Jill Scott is almost always a winner, as is Joe. Even Bob Marley fans are not wanting for songs to stoke the fires of love. If neither of you has an aversion to sappy, sentimental music, good old Westlife will do just fine. 3. The Gift of You Buying gifts is a great idea, but you, the object of his desire, are as good a present as any.  Pick a hairstyle you know he’ll love, get your nails done (red is a great idea), and lay out that lingerie he’ll be in a hurry to take off. Freshly laundered sheets and a long soak in a scented bath, and you’re on your way to an unforgettable Valentine evening. 4. The Promise of Tomorrow When the plates have been cleaned and the sheets rumpled, what your husband truly needs to know is that his woman will be by his side forever- not just hanging around because you don’t want to break your vows, but actually being there and giving 100%, every day.  So let him know that you have his back and you’ll hold him down let come what may. And mean it. There you are simple tips that won’t break the bank. Get to work, woman!
