She is the breakout artist of the year, something like a phenomenon if you like and the best part is that she has only just started. You most certainly would have heard about her- a muscian with a twist- Chioma Omeruah aka Chigurl. She once described herself as: “Chi-Ghul/ C-flow/Chioma is a singer, actress, linguist, All round entertainer /world citizen!” Chioma was born in Lagos where she lived there until she turned 18 and moved to the United State for College. She worked briefly as a French teacher while learning languages and began theatre. She has a passion for making people laugh and what better time to create laugher than now.
Chigurl was propelled to limlight with the hit single Not Gonna Be A Weist (Waste), a track which created ripples as it was a clearly unprecedented approach to music by an artiste. Most of the songs you will hear from Chi-Ghul are translations of an ever active and perceptive imagination. “Everything around me inspires me. Not gonna be a weiist was inspired by a friend of mine who has the hardest hustle I have ever seen – talk about “octopus”, he is more like a centipede because he does about a hundred different things at a time.” Chigurl said in recent interview. And as the now popular saying goes: ‘If you haven’t heard of Chigurl then consider yourself a weissst!’ Check out the video of her interview with flytime below.
