Flutterwave has, however, found its way into civil discourse space where most tech companies prefer to avoid in the Nigerian context- and they have been nothing short of bold in doing so. The platform was the first to open its portal donations towards #EndSARS and by Tuesday, that portal had process upwards of 25 million in donations towards the movement. The goodwill from this was a big win for the brand and that is not to say money was not made but it says a lot when a brand takes such a stand against injustice in Nigeria and they did. Flutterwave is now being investigated by the Central Bank since Wednesday. This in view of the fact that it believes that terrorists are now using the links to wash funds. As preposterous as the sound, that pretext has been the reason the link was disabled and as we speak the management is having a back and forth with CBN. While that payment is still down, other payment portals have opened up to those who wish to donate to the cause. Featured Image Source: Technext NG
