World football governing body, FIFA has announced that the draw for the final round of African World Cup qualifiers will be made on September 16, 2013 and that the September rankings will be used to determine the seeded teams for the draw.
The draw will be made at the Confederation for African Football (CAF) headquarters in Cairo, Eqypt and the matches will be in form of a two-legged playoff, with the aggregate winners going through to Brazil 2014.
The first legs of the play-offs will be played from 11 to 15 October 2013, while the return legs will take place from 15 to 19 November 2013.
The second qualifying round is at its apex, with all the winners of the 10 groups vying for the five slots allocated to Africa in the World Cup.
Ethiopia, Tunisia, Cote D’Ivoire, Algeria and Egypt are all through to the final round. Nigeria needs just a point against their closest rivals, Malawi in their last game at home to make it to the next round.
Super Eagles are currently ranked fourth in Africa and will need to put up a mesmeric performance in Brasil to avoiding slipping out of the top-5.
