Fidelity Bank International Creative Writing Workshop

The creative writing scene in Nigeria is flourishing, as workshops and conferences of international standard are being organized in the country. Last month applications opened for the 2012 edition of the Farafina Trust Creative Writing Workshop, now a call for entries for the Fidelity Bank sponsored International Creative Writing Workshop has been made.
For the facilitators, Caine Prize-winning author of “Waiting for An Angel” and “Measuring Time” Helon Habila, who is a constant feature in the annual workshop, will be joined by two lovely and talented writers. Aminatta Forna, author of “The Memory of Love” and Commonwealth Writer’s Prize winner, and Sally Keith, author of “Dwelling Song” and winner of the Colorado Prize for Poetry.

Entries for the 5th Edition of the Annual Fidelity Bank International Creative Writing Workshop are now being accepted. The Workshop is a component of Fidelity Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility programme, through which the bank continues to push for a better society.
Participants are expected to read and discuss a wide range of fiction as well as complete short story writing and reading exercise. Entries open on Monday 14th may 2012 to Monday 4th June 2012.
This year’s workshop will focus on fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction. Candidates should make their submission according to their field of interest. Note that multiple submissions will not be accepted.

Your name
Your address
A few sentences about yourself (not more than 50 words)
A writing sample of between 200 – 1000 words
Acceptance will be based on the quality of the entry. The entry must be pasted or written in the body of the e-mail. Do NOT send any attachments.
If accepted, you will be notified by June 20, 2012.
