FG Declares Friday and Monday Public Holidays

Nigeria’s Federal Government has officially declared Friday July 17 and Monday July 20 as public holidays to mark the upcoming Eid-el-Fitr celebration. The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Abubakar Magaji announced this on Tuesday in Abuja. During his declaration, he encouraged all Muslims and citizens to extend the joyous benefits of the Ramadan season, from love and peace to sacrifice for the country’s progress. Nigerians – both at home and abroad – were also asked to pray for the country’s peace and unity, and support the President’s administration “in its determination and sustained efforts towards building a peaceful, united and virile nation.”   Source: Punch Newspaper
